The Washington boys and girls soccer team hosts Keokuk tonight for a conference match-up.

The Demon girls are 2-2 after their loss to Mid-Prairie, but are looking to come back strong against Keokuk.

The Chiefs are 2-1, and after losing to an Illinois team to start the season they have come back and shutout West Liberty 8-0 and Mt. Pleasant 6-0.

Keokuk’s leading scorer is Taylor Lemon with seven goals, while Alicia Riffle adds four.

In the boys game, Washington is coming off a big conference win over Fairfield 10-2. The Demons are led by Mason Quigley with six goals on season, while Chris Avila and Joe Smith have both added three goals. Jacob Baughman in goal has seen 48 shots, and only let in four.

Keokuk is 4-1, beating larger schools Davenport West and Burlington, but falling to Mt. Pleasant 2-1. The Chiefs have three players will three goals, including Bryce Baxter, Cole Hinton and AJ Swan, but it is their defense that is stifling, only allowing 15 shots on net.

Tonight’s games are at the Washington Soccer Complex, with the girls at 4, and the boys at 6.
