The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in partnership with Walmart Pharmacy in Fairfield is hosting National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, April 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Any unused or expired prescription drugs will be collected at the drop-off site, in addition to E-cigarettes and vaping devices. Anyone disposing of vape pens or e-cigarette devices must remove the batteries before dropping them off. If the battery cannot be removed, check with the large electronic chain stores, or contact your local hazardous materials management facility to determine if they accept these devices.

National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs. The goal is also to educate the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. All community members are encouraged to participate.
