Free appliance recycling pick up is taking place in the City of Washington today only. Midwest Recovery of Des Moines is collecting the appliances, including furnaces, dishwashers and printers free of charge. They do not collect tube televisions. Any questions should be directed to Steve Donnolly with the City of Washington. Full list of items accepted is below.

Also, the City of Washington’s annual city-wide spring clean up starts today. Stickers will be needed for large items, such as furntiure and mattresses, which can be purchased at City Hall. Also, waste oil, tires, and hazardous materials will not be picked up. Questions about what will and will not be picked up should be directed to Luke Waste Management.
