A local historical society is one of many groups to receive funding from Keep Iowa Beautiful. They gave out $80,000 in grants this week as part of their Community Beautification program. The Keokuk County Historical Society was awarded $5,000 for the Sigourney Town Square Park project. They can begin using the money July 1st, and will need to have the project done by June 30th of next year. The funding is authorized by the Iowa Legislature from the Solid Waste Alternative Program.
