The KCII Severe Weather Action Team responded to a severe thunderstorm warning in Washington County last night at approximately 11:30 p.m. Warnings were issued for the storm across Washington, Jefferson, Henry, Keokuk, Iowa, Johnson and Louisa counties. Reports of 3/4 inch-sized hail were received from the Wellman area. Keota Police Chief Doug Conrad reported wind reaching nearly 50 miles per hour during the storm. Larry Smith, Washington and Keokuk County Emergency Management Coordinator, reported power lines down near South English across Highway 22.

The warning was extended and came to an end at 1:15 a.m. this morning.
