A new air-conditioning system at Washington Township Elementary will likely be the first project funded by Mid-Prairie’s bond issue. According to Superintendent Mark Schneider, they hope to have that done this summer.
The geothermal system and addition at the Middle School are the district’s next priorities. Their engineering firm, Shive Hattery, will start working on the designs for those projects next month.
At the school board’s meeting Monday, during a discussion with their bonding attorney, they learned they could start selling bonds as soon as June. Mid-Prairie’s $10,640,000 bond issue was approved by voters on April 1st.
