A new park ranger has been hired for the Washington County Conservation Department. Mark Even has been selected for the position. The Washington County Board of Supervisors acknowledge the hiring at yesterday’s meeting. Supervisor Jack Seward stated it was procedural and necessary for payroll purposes. He added the supervisors do not select hires, the conservation board does. Even will take the post April 28th.

The position was previously held by Bob Bellmer, who resigned on December 31st, but was then approved for reinstatement in January. Although, later that month the conservation board unanimously voted to no longer have Bellmer with the department. The termination was acknowledged by the supervisors February 4th.
