The South 12th Avenue and East Tyler Street paving project for this summer is one step closer to beginning construction. The Washington City Council approved the resolution of necessity for the project. The project will have five-foot wide sidewalks. Prior to the resolution approval a public hearing was in held, during which members of the neighborhood impacted by the project spoke in favor of the five-foot wide sidewalks not only for wheel chairs but also for tricycles and strollers. Also, City Attorney Kevin Olson stated assessments for property owners now have maximum costs set.
