A tornado touched down in Lone Tree Sunday evening. At this time,  it isn’t believed the short-lived tornado caused injuries or damage. According to National Weather Service Meteorologist, Donna Dubberke, this was a situation where weather spotters saw the tornado before there was any indication on the radar. This happens about 25% of the time. She says they hope to see signs of a potential tornado on the radar so they can issue a warning, but in this case reports from spotters prompted the warning for counties still in the storm’s path.
