Today is the Internal Revenue Service tax filing deadline. According to the IRS, most Iowans, about 95%, have e-filed. Last year, 87% of Iowans filed electronically. Nationwide, the IRS anticipates approximately 12 million taxpayers will have requested extensions to file, allowing them another six months to file.
Lee Franck with H&R Block states people will need income source documents to file, such as W-2s, 10-99Rs and any unemployment, social security or investment documents.
