The Linn County Casino license has been denied. This morning the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission denied the license with a 4 to 1 vote. Multiple commissioners cited the impact on disrupting the market.

Riverside City Administrator Rusty Rogerson states from Council Bluffs that he is thrilled. He adds he wasn’t surprised and said the gaming commission has always been very thoughtful of the impacts of their decisions.

Earlier this year, two independent firms conducted a market analysis, those studies predicted the Linn County casino would have taken approximately 30 to 42% of the Riverside Casino’s annual business. KCII will bring you more information, including remarks from area officials, as they become available.
