The Washington Demon and Mid-Prairie track and field teams will travel to Williamsburg tonight for a track meet.

This will be one of two meets this week for the Demons, as they host their boy/girl invite Thursday.

The Drake Relays cutoff is in 10 days, so both teams will look to get some of their best times on the track starting tonight.

Demon head coach Steve Roth said it will be nice to get away from the normal teams tonight and see some new competition.

“We ran a lot of kids [last week], so they’re really sore, and they are looking forward to some warm weather as we talk about [this week], and [tonight], it’s supposed to be warm,” Roth said. “We finally get away from the Ft. Madisons and Mt. Pleasants, and get to run against Solon, Grinnell, and Williamsburg we haven’t seen all year and it’s nice to see some different competition. We’re going to load up that 4×200 again and I really want to try and run a 4×100, load that up and try and get some different people in there.”

Washington does see some injuries on the varsity team, which will create some changes in the lineup.

Tonight’s meet at Williamsburg starts at 4:45.
