The Iowa Mennonite golf team had a couple of duals last night against WMU, and it was the Wolves who came out on top in both of them.
In the girls dual, the Wolves won by 18 strokes, 230-248. Top golfers for WMU were Grace Edwards with a 47, Nicole Escher with a 57, Sophie Kongable with a 60 and Samantha Jamison with a 66. For IMS Michaela Prihoda was the low score with a 55, followed by Jess Bender with a 63, Liza Brenneman with a 64 and Abbie Dewild with a 66.
In the boys match, WMU ran away with the win, 171-221. The Wolves got a 35 from Jake Edwards for their low score, and he was backed up by a 41 from Klayton Booth, a 45 from Thayne McElhinney and a 50 from Kolt Rossiter. IMS was led by Tanner Leyden with a 45, followed by a 55 from Roman Slabach, Lane Schrock shot a 56 and Ben Miller finished with a 63.
IMS head coach Steve Nelson said that lack of practice due to the cold temperatures has hurt their consistency, but he is optimistic about his teams ability to improve.
