The City of Columbus Junction plans to accept sealed bids for Roundy Pond. The pond was originally owned by a resident who wanted to give it to Cedercrest Golf Course, but was unable to complete the paperwork before he passed away. The property rights went to the City when the owner’s estate was distributed. City Clerk Julie Heindal says the City is unable to give the pond to the golf club, because it isn’t a government entity. The City also decided against a lease agreement, so they went with sealed bids, and are now working out the details with their attorney.
