The group that helped save a 126-year-old bridge outside of Kalona is hoping to start a market. Members of Friends of Bunker Mill Bridge have found a steel building in Iowa City for that purpose. It’s being brought down to the bridge in a couple of weeks.

Executive Director of the group, Julie Bowers, says they’ll likely sell fundraising merchandise and things like sunscreen. It remains unclear if permitting will be necessary.

The public is encouraged to attend the group’s meeting at 6:30 next Tuesday on the north side of the bridge.
