The Washington Farm Bureau hosted a candidates forum for the county candidates on the ballot in June’s primary. For the County Attorney race the Republicans have a contested race with current county attorney Larry Brock seeking re-election and former assistant county attorney Shawn Showers seeking the nomination, on the Democratic ticket Barb Edmondson, former county attorney, is running unopposed.

During the forum Showers stated he sets himself apart with his diversity of experience in criminal law, his rural upbringing and he looks to bring credibility back to the office.

Brock explained his tenure in the office shows voters who he is as an effective criminal prosecutor and increasing revenue in the office, while working with other county officials.

Following the attorney forum there was also a county supervisor forum with Democrats Ceanne Alvine and Keith Cutkomp and Republicans Abe Miller and Scott Davis all for District 3. Current supervisor Richard Young is running unopposed.
