Staff has been directed to get more information regarding selling the former Washington library building and to hold off on the renovation schedule at this time. The Washington City Council toured the building before Wednesday’s meeting and some concerns were raised regarding structural soundness, electrical, water and asbestos.

The building currently houses Washington County Public Health’s immunization clinics, WIC and the Family Connection. The council is considering which avenue to take regarding making more space for City Hall, the Police Department and the Fire Department, one option is renovating the former library building for City Hall.
