The City of Washington is looking to redevelop the site where partially collapsed buildings were removed over two years ago on South Marion Avenue. City Administrator Brent Hinson explained the council will decide what they want the property to become with any stipulations and then the property will be sold to WEDG, or Washington Economic Development Group, on contract. WEDG will then get the site developed and a development agreement would be brought back to the council for approval. Hinson stated the project is in preliminary stages. A conceptual drawing for the 200 block of South Marion shows four store fronts with second story dwellings and each facade has a similar design.
