The Washington boys golf team will host conference today at Washington.

This is an early morning all day meet that will host five teams, including: Washington, Keokuk, Fairfield, Ft. Madison and Mt. Pleasant.

Washington has had some inconsistencies as of late, but they continue to play well on their home course.

Head coach Mark Berhow says the wetness shouldn’t be a problem, but another natural enemy of golfers will be.

“Might be, maybe some wetness in a couple of low spots, but the wind is going to be the challenge today, so that’s probably the biggest thing we have to overcome today,” Berhow said. “We’ve got some nerves, we have two big meets this week with today being conference, and sectionals on Friday, and it looks like it is going to be similar weather for both. This is one of those days where we just need to really make sure we play every shot.”

Today’s meet has been pushed back an hour to a 10 AM start time due to the weather yesterday.
