The Mid-Prairie boys soccer team played Keokuk on Monday, and what a comeback win it was.

The Golden Hawks went down to Keokuk, and struggled with the wind in the first half of the game. The Chiefs put up three in the first, while Mid-Prairie had just one goal from Austin Errthum who got into the penalty area and found a way to get it to the back of the net.

In the second half, it was the Errthum show. The Golden Hawks made some adjustments that worked immediately, with Errthum setting up Dayton Hall for a goal just four minutes in. Then it was Spencer Shalla who put a deep ball ahead for Errthum who won the race and put in goal number two. Tied 3-3, Errthum kept going. At the 75 minute market Hall gave the assist to Errthum as a thank you present from earlier and Errthum had his hat trick, but he still wasn’t done. Ahead 4-3, Errthum scored his fourth and final goal in less than 60 seconds after his third.

Errthum finished with four goals and one assist in the Golden Hawks 12th win of the season.

Mid-Prairie finishes the regular season with Cedar Valley Christian tomorrow night.
