The Mid-Prairie boys track team hosted the inaugural River Valley Conference boys track meet Thursday night in Wellman. Though Mid-Prairie did not pick up any event wins they had several strong showings against a very competitive field that led to an 8th place team finish out of 13 participating schools. The Golden Hawks posted a team score of 42 points, meet team champion was two time defending state champion Monticello with a score of 153 points.

Highlights for Mid-Prairie included Levi Duwa finishing runner up in the shot put and in the top five in the discus. The Mid-Prairie 4×800 team of Colin Weber, Andrew and Zeb Schwartz and Ty Fiegenspan took 4th. The Golden Hawk distance medley took 3rd with a team of Isaihn Powell, Eesaa Baylor, Weber and Zeb Schwartz and Fiegenspan took 4th in the 800.

Mid-Prairie travels to Eddyville-Blakesburg next week for their state qualifying meet.
