A formal hearing regarding the Goncho Apartment Building was held yesterday. A court date has been set for July 14th. Steve Donnolly, Washington Building and Zoning Official, explains the owners, JARS Enterprises, can resolve the issue of the meth residue or wait for the court date, at which time it will be determined if they are guilty or not of having a dangerous building. If found guilty at that time, the court may order a mandatory clean up of the property and fine the owners.

In March, the building was deemed dangerous by a city appeals panel. The owners had 30 days to mitigate the problem before the city could take further action. Five apartments and common areas tested positive for methamphetamine. In December of 2012, a meth lab was found in the building.
