The IMS soccer team picked up a big shutout win on Friday over Mediapolis.

IMS won 8-0, despite MEPO’s best attempts at making it hard to score. The first goal game from an own goal as Spencer Schrock sent a low worm burner that bounced off a Bulldog’s leg and into the goal. The next goal didn’t come until midway through the first half when Enrique Sanchez and Kobi Russom did a little give and go, and Sanchez converted to make it 2-0.

Shetler then curled a corner kick later in the half and scored to make it 3-0, a minute later Sanchez grabbed a loose ball and put it into the net, and then Eli Gingerich centered the ball for an Alex Kurtz goal to make it 5-0 at half.

In the second half IMS didn’t lose a beat, with Schrock setting up Russom for an early second half goal to make it 6-0. Finally Jacob Schmeider got on the board with a goal in front of the net, and Kurtz landed the final eighth goal to make the final.

IMS is now 7-6 overall and travels to Danville tonight with kickoff at 5.
