The 5th ranked Mid-Prairie boys soccer team cruised to its 10th win of the season by defeating Wapello by a score of 14-0. With 11 seniors on the field to start the game, Wyatt Cady had 2 quick goals in the first 4 minutes to start off the scoring. Austin Errthum and Nick Stimson matched Cady’s 2 goals on the night each scoring 2 of their own. The Golden Hawks were able to have a comfortable 9-0 lead in the first half and finished by scoring 5 more in the second half to finish out the game. Andrew Bates, Spencer Shalla, Abduhl Msabah, Maher Sanalla, Wade Stutzman, Dustin Yoder and Anthony Gingerich each added a goal in the Golden Hawk victory. This brings the goal total for the Golden Hawks to 48 on the year and only allowing 8 to opposing teams in 12 games.
Nathan Faselt played the first 40 minutes as the goal keeper for Mid-Prairie and had 3 saves. Dayton Hall stepped in for the second half and contributed 40 minutes with no saves and no goals allowed. The stingy Golden Hawk defense again refused to yield any points to an opposing team.
Mid-Prairie will host Highland on Thursday evening at the soccer complex in Wellman.
