Grass and weeds are not allowed to exceed eight inches in height on all residential and commercial properties in the City of Washington. Steve Donnolly, Building and Zoning Official, is reminding area citizens of the ordinance and property owners should begin mowing and trimming grass and weeds. Overgrowth of these and brush can be considered a nuisance and are subject to the city’s abatement process.

Jim Cluney of J&D Small Engine Repairs recommends people should check and or change the oil, sharpen blades, and clean the air filter and spark plugs before running their lawn mower for the first time this season.
