The fiscal year 2015 technology plan for the Washington Community School District was approved at last night’s school board meeting. Jeff Brock, Director of Technology, and John TeBockhorst, Assistant Director of Technology, presented the goals for the summer and the outlook for the district. Staff will be working on replacing staff computers, upgrading the middle school’s wireless network, and replacing the high school’s computers in the business lab.

One issue that has yet to be resolved is how the school will now connect to the ICN, Iowa Communication Network. Currently the school district connects at the Kirkwood building, but fiber will need to be taken either to the new Kirkwood facility or to the armory where the connection can be established. Technology staff advised they would keep the school board updated on the issue.
