Three weeks from today Washington will be celebrating its 175th with History Day. Virginia McCurdy, History Day Chair, explains the Brinton films will be part of the day’s activities with Michael Zahs presenting them at 6:30 p.m. in the State Theater. McCurdy states the Brintons were a “colorful” couple, for example Mr. Brinton once built an airplane and tried unsuccessfully to fly an airplane from the fair grounds to his home on South Iowa.

The day will also include an architectural tour of downtown, historic re-enactments and a costume style show. For more information listen to today’s Washington Page with McCurdy.
