A group is coming to Washington today from Uganda as ambassadors of the children of Africa and the many that are orphaned or die each year. Pastor Maureen Howard of Immanuel Lutheran Church explains the Watoto Children’s Choir is performing in Washington tonight. The Ugandan children in the choir serve as ambassadors for children of Africa who are orphaned due to HIV, AIDS, war and poverty and according to World Hunger Facts nearly 11 million children die each year before the age of five.
The choir will sing and dance tonight at 7 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, the event is free to the pubilc.
