Demon and Highland Baseball Head to Perfect Game

The Washington Demon baseball team will travel up to Cedar Rapids tonight to face off with their annual foe Highland at Perfect Game field.

Washington comes in off of a couple of loses to Fairfield, and is looking to get back on track. Walker Breard leads the way at the plate with a .457 average and three homers, while Tanner Knupp and Jacob Green hit .400 as well and sit in the one and two spot in the order. On the mound, Elijah Wood is the top arm with a .72 ERA, while Zach Londberg and Michael Gier have taken over the two spot on the team with their crafty pitching.

Highland is 8-7 this year. at the plate they have struggled quite a bit, with no player that has played over 10 games hitting over .300. Adam Schwarz is the top bat with a .297 average and 10 RBI’s, while Josh Brase comes it at a .296 with seven RBI’s. Pitching wise Highland has been decent this year, with Chase Rath in a reliever position, he is 2-0 with a 0 ERA and 20 strikeouts, and their best starter is Jacob Wilson with a 4-1 record, 1.72 ERA and 32 strikeouts.
