The Demon softball team plays a huge conference double header tonight against the top team in the Southeast Conference.

Washington will host Fairfield for their second go around in the conference. The Trojans have won all three meetings with the Demons this year, winning a couple of close ones in the first conference double header, and putting up 10 on Washington over their weekend tournament.

The Demons are 4-4 in conference play, and are led at the plate by Grace Redlinger with a .439 average, two homeruns, a triple and 14 RBI’s. Stephanie Fishback reclaimed the number two spot over the weekend with a .333 average. Only two other Demons are hitting over .300. In the circle is where the Demons have shined this season. Ashley Rausch is 6-6 with a 1.46 ERA, a conference leading 105 strikeouts and opponents hit just .169. Amber Linnenkamp has come in and done her job as well despite her 1-6 record.

Fairfield is 7-1 in conference play, and with a couple wins tonight would eliminate Washington from the conference title race, and theoretically lock down first place. Fairfield is led at the plate by four bats hitting over .400, and led by Brynna Bowman with a .491 average and 15 RBI’s. The Trojans have their entire batting order hitting over .300. In the circle, Alli Deao has an 8-3 record with a 1.8 ERA, 44 K’s and opponents hit .205, and Haley Beard is 8-1 with a 3.04 ERA and opponents hit .245 off of her.

Tonight’s game is at Washington with a 5:30 start time for game one with game two to follow after.
