Coming off of a no-hitter thrown by a freshman and putting up 13 runs with hits up and down the lineup the Demon baseball team travels south for a pair against Ft. Madison.

Washington dropped two to Mt. Pleasant last week with just a couple of innings being the reason. Washington comes into the game tonight an even .500. The lead bat for the Demons is Walker Breard with a .457 average, three homers and 13 RBI’s, Tanner Knupp comes in with a .406 average and Jacob Green’s 3-3 night against the Golden Hawks bumped him up to an even .400. On the mound, Elijah Wood has a .72 ERA, 27 strikeouts and opponents are hitting .235, and outside of Zach Londberg who pitched on Tuesday, the Demons next pitcher is Michael Gier with a 1-1 record, 3.07 ERA and opponents are hitting .254 off of him.

For the Bloodhounds, they are 0-17 on the season. They are led at the plate by Chase Seaney with a .303 average, and seems to be the only starter with an average over .300. They are averaging a little over just one RBI a game with 18, and have scored just 19 runs all season. On the mound, Ft. Madison has used almost every member of the team as a pitcher. The team’s combined ERA is a 9.31 with a state worst 118 walks.

Tonight’s game is at Ft. Madison with the start of the first game at 5:30 and the second game to follow.
