Demons Host the Dutch in Single Game Tonight

The Washington Demon baseball team takes on Pella tonight for a single game.

The Demons are 4-4 this season after a split with Keokuk at the end of last week. Tanner Knupp leads the way at the plate with a .455 average, a triple and two doubles, and freshmen Dakota Kron is behind him with a .423 average and seven RBI’s. The Demons have five players with a .345 average or better. On the mound, Elijah Wood is the ace with 13 1/3 innings pitched, he has a 1.05 ERA, 19 strikeouts and opponents are hitting .254 off of him. The Demons also look to a couple of freshmen arms to help out with the pitching duties in Michael Gier and Zach Londberg. Londberg is 1-0 with a 4.5 ERA, while Gier is 1-1 with a 4.85 ERA.

Pella comes into the game 6-3 on the season, losing their last three games. The best bat for the Dutch is Grant Judkins with a .444 average, a homer and three doubles, Jason Morgan is the power with seven RBI’s and two homers, but an average of just .207. Pella has just three players hitting over .300. On the mound, they look to Tanner Wood with 21 innings pitched, a .33 ERA, 14 strikeouts and opponents hit .234 off of him.
