Soybean progress is ahead of last season and the five year average. According to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, all fields planted with soybeans are showing signs of growth. That’s compared to around 50% last year. Meanwhile, corn conditions are for the most part in good or excellent condition, as are this season’s soybeans. Recent rainfalls have helped soil moisture. Just a few weeks ago 50% of the state’s subsoil was short on moisture. That figure has dropped to 25%.
