The growing season is in full swing across the state of Iowa. With planting done and visible growth on nearly all corn and soybean acres in southeast Iowa, farmers are now keeping an eye on conditions. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the majority remains in good condition. That could change if the area doesn’t get sufficient rain over the summer. Although the situation has slowly improved this spring, 50% of subsoil and 30% of topsoil remains short on moisture.
