IMS Softball Classic Hits KCII This Morning

The IMS softball team is holding their IMS classic today, and their first opponent is area school Keota.

IMS is 2-11 this season and is hoping to notch another win today, while Keota is still looking for win number one.

IMS is led by the bat of Statia Majerick with a .348 average, and the .300 average of Jenna Boller. Outside of those two, every average on IMS is in the 200’s or below.

In the circle, Rachel Miller is 1-7 with a 4.91 ERA, eight strikeouts and 56 walks on the year as a eighth grader.

Keota comes in 0-17. Their bats are solid with Kelsi Sieren and Mariah Lyle both leading the way with a .326 average and 20 combined RBI’s. Raigan Sprouse is right behind them with a .320 average. In the circle is where Keota struggles, with their lead arm in Mallory Ladehoff having a 13.6 ERA, 76 walks and 11 strikeouts.

IMS will play Keota at 10 AM first right here on AM and FM KCII and KCIIradio.com under radio plus with pregame at 9:30 and first pitch at 10. The one to count on for today’s local sports coverage is AM and FM KCII and KCIIradio.com. Keota will them play Central Lee at noon, and IMS will wrap things up playing Central Lee at 2 PM.
