A program planned for next week will cover what we know about the ancient mounds found throughout Louisa County. An archaeological technician with the Office of the State Archaeologist will be at the Heritage Center in Wapello on Tuesday to discuss the matter. The program is going to include speculation as to why the mounds were built, what we know of the people who built them and how the mounds are a representation of ideas spreading across what we now call the Midwest. The Ancient Mounds of Louisa County begins at 7pm. For more information, click here.
