A contractor has been selected for Kalona’s maintenance building renovation. The project is in the upcoming fiscal year’s budget that begins July 1st, and work is expected to begin soon. Mayor Ken Herington says they’re going to add on to the building at 711 A Avenue and renovate the existing rooms. A material shed will also be built. The city council recently accepted the only bid they received, which came in at $105,000.
