The Mid-Prairie baseball team will finish the rest of their conference game from Tuesday night this afternoon at Paul N. Bailey Field. Last night’s contest entered a lightning delay in the top of the fifth inning with two outs and never resumed. At that point in the contest Mid-Prairie trailed Northeast Gooselake by a 6-1 score. The Rebels made a living with two outs, scoring all of their runs in that situation. Mid-Prairie was only able to muster one hit to that point in the game.

Head coach Ryan Koller talked during the delay about what he had seen thus far in the game.

“I believe four of the runs are from walks, and you just can’t do that. Anytime they get on, whether it is one out, or no outs, or two outs and you walk somebody, they counter and score every time, and they’ve put a couple of hits together, so now we’re down 6-1 instead of 2-1.” Koller said.

The two teams will resume play this afternoon at 4:30 in Wellman and pick up where they left off last evening in the fifth inning.
