The Mid-Prairie softball team hosts the No. 1 team in 2A tonight when they take on Iowa City Regina.

The Golden Hawks have some solid hitting this early in the season with Amber Kral the top hitter for the team with a .625 average, a double, triple and a home run. Sophomore Ali Naylor is sitting in the second spot with a .600 average.

In the circle, Mid-Prairie gets the most of their innings from Taylor Kurtz who has yet to record a win with 11 strikeouts, but Emma Troyer has stepped in twice and finished the job with a 2-0 record.

For Regina, Megan Bonnett leads the way at the plate with a .462 average and two doubles. Six other players have an average of .308 or higher.

In the circle, Bonnett also leads the way with a 2.50 ERA, 1-1 record and 11 strikeouts.
