Riverside residents are invited to help paint downtown businesses tomorrow.

According to City Administrator, Rusty Rogerson, he wrote a grant to Keep Iowa Beautiful and was able to get the paint for free.

Five business fronts facing Highway 22 are slated to receive a fresh coat. Those that plan to help are encouraged to wear painting clothes and bring supplies like paintbrushes. The Paint the Town event starts at 9am.

Other improvements ahead of next weekend’s Trek Fest include the installation of new planters and benches on the sidewalk along the highway. They were obtained through the Build with Bags program, and are made completely of recycled grocery bags and milk jugs.
