A church in Keota will take on the responsibilities associated with a park they own, but the city has maintained for nearly three decades. In late February, the city and United Church of Faith began discussing the possibility of transferring ownership of the park to the city. The council looked at a final proposal last week and it failed after a vote. The United Church of Faith will be responsible for the park beginning July 1st. A verbal agreement between church and city officials was reached 29 years ago, and the city has maintained the land since.
