An $8,000 check was returned by the Washington County Board of Supervisors. Yesterday, Supervisor Jack Seward explained an $8,000 payment for a private septic system for a property owned by Steve and Rebecca Klopfenstein was returned, as the supervisors are going to seek the full cost of the system which is over $16,000. Also, yesterday the supervisors approved sending a letter drafted by County Attorney Larry Brock that states the board requests a check for the full amount within 14 days of the date of the letter.

The septic system is located in Rubio. Last week it was stated the case may go to court if an agreement was not found. KCII News will bring you more information as the story unfolds.

Also, the Washington County Treasurer’s office will be closed today from 9:30 a.m. until noon so that staff may attend a funeral.
