Demons Start Districts Tonight

The Washington Demon baseball team starts their district run tonight when they play Benton Community.

The Demons were scheduled to play Benton earlier in the year, but the game was cancelled, tonight they travel the district sight of Solon for the early game.

Washington is coming off a 21-2 loss to Solon on Tuesday who they will more than likely see again in the second round of districts if they were to win tonight.

Walker Breard has the top average with a .427 average, 35 RBI, six homers, three triples and seven doubles. Tanner Knupp comes in with a .378 average and Jacob Green sits third with a .323 average. Elijah Wood is the top arm with a 4-2 record, .90 ERA, 70 strikeouts and opponents hit .134, and Zach Londberg comes in at 4-1 with a 1.88 ERA and 10 strikeouts.

Benton is 16-20 on the season, and led at the plate by TJ Morris with a .349 average, Austin MacFarland is second with a .311 average and after him everyone is under .300. On the mound for Benton is a whole host of different arms, with 14 different players having pitched, a team ERA of 4.41 and 127 strikeouts to 116 walks.
