Nearly three times the normal amount of precipitation has been recorded in the area so far this month. According to the National Weather Service, just over one inch of rain for the first week of July is normal, however 2.87 inches of rain have been recorded in Washington so far this month. Last year there was no precipitation observed the first week of July and the record was 4.6 inches set in 1993.

So far this year 20.54 inches of precipitation have been recorded, two inches above the norm.
