A music festival scheduled for this weekend in rural Washington County has been held for nearly three decades. The three day Bluegrass Festival begins tomorrow evening at 7pm and will continue through Sunday morning with more live music and a gospel hymn sing. A variety of bluegrass bands will play from 7 until at least 10pm tomorrow and Saturday. The event has been held annually at Windmill Ridge Campground, located south of Kalona, for 28 years. Organizer of the festival, Paul Roberts, says local bands and musicians are encouraged to take the stage before the scheduled acts perform.
