Local and regional acts are making their way to rural Kalona for the Bluegrass Festival. The annual event is held at Windmill Ridge Campground in an area banjo player for The Great Bluegrass Herons and the McPunk Brothers, Paul Roberts, says is a natural amphitheater.

Music begins at 7 p.m. tonight and will continue tomorrow at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., plus their will be a Gospel hymn sing-along led by Al and Aleta Murphy Sunday morning at 10 a.m.

Roberts says Slewgrass, Schaefer, Black and Yoder, Castle Ridge, the Haining Family, Bluegrass Blondies and the two bands he plays with are set to perform.

Food will be available on site, but attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
