More than $4,000 was raised Thursday night for the Washington County 4-H program through the bucket of junk auction. Nine sculptures including a frog garden, an owl, a wind machine and a pink flamingo were auctioned off for a total of $4,425. The bucket of junk contest provides participants with a bucket of various scrap metal pieces including chains, screws and hinges. Each bucket has identical pieces and participants then weld, bend and paint the pieces to create a sculpture. For photos of the pieces visit KCII Radio’s Facebook page.
