A celebration held for nearly a century in Louisa County is taking place this weekend. Chief Wapello Days begins tomorrow, with events like mutton busting, barrel races and the FFA PRCA Rodeo. Those contests will also be held Saturday night. This year’s dance featuring Jerad Harness and Blackgrass will be held from 9pm to 1:30am Saturday. According to event chairperson, Jenna Kuntz, proceeds from the dance help finance the following year’s celebration.
