The third trial of a man accused of killing his pregnant wife continues in Scott County. Seth Techel is charged with two felonies, first degree murder and nonconsensual termination of a pregnancy, in connection with the 2012 shooting death of Lisa Techel.

According to Washington County Sheriff Jerry Dunbar, he gave a brief testimony yesterday dealing with a current and past employee. The Associated Press reports Washington County jailer Jason Tinnes admitted during a deposition this month to having an affair with fellow employee Lisa Techel. Seth Techel’s defense says that information wasn’t disclosed in his first two trials. Both of those ended in mistrials due to hung juries.

The defense rested its case yesterday. Closing arguments are expected today.
