The Washington Demons play in the district baseball finals tonight against Solon.

The Demons had a good defensive and offensive night for their squad on Friday against Benton Community to advance, but now have to face a team that a week ago beat them 21-2.

The Demons are led by Walker Breard at the plate with a .430 average and hitting his seventh homer of the season on Friday. Tanner Knupp is second with a .383 average and Jacob Green is third with a .320 average for the Demons. On the mound for the Demons will be the young southpaw of Zach Londberg. Londberg is 4-1 this season with a 3.30 ERA, and opponents hit .279 off of him.

Solon comes into the game off of a 5-1 win over Center Point-Urbana. Elijah Kane is the leading hitter with a .337 average and 38 runs scored, while Dillon Drake is second with a .324 average. On the mound for Solon, they have multiple good arms, with Luke Ira, an eighth grader, leading the way with a 4-1 record, .88 ERA and 21 strikeouts, and Mitch Silberstein also being an option in game two with a 5-2 record, 2.03 ERA and 41 strikeouts.
